Facts about Edu-Care for Dogs^TM

õ   We spend the day with your dog in a home environment, reinforcing good manners. Play groups are kept very small-there is a maximum of 10 dogs in school each day.

õ   We use Choice Training™, our own style of training that teaches problem solving (e.g., dogs continue behaviors that “work” and stop performing behaviors that “don’t work”), using mental manipulation instead of physical corrections.

õ   Harsh corrections or corporal punishment are never used! Play groups are not patrolled with people carrying spray bottles of water.  Staff expertise in canine behavior allows us to see subtle cues so we can intervene and redirect BEFORE problems start.

õ   Edu-Care for Dogs^TM features playtime with short training sessions for each dog based on the goals established for each dog. This high repetition and total consistency with positive rewards is the most effective, humane and FUN way for dogs to learn and retain.

õ   Acceptance into our program is solely based on each individual dog and whether or not we can meet their needs. We do not discriminate against breed or size; the dog must display appropriate behavior for this particular environment.

õ   We provide transportation to and from school which not only allows for practice riding in a car but also avoids excitement and stress for dogs when parents drop off and pick up their “kids” from school.  (Ask about our transportation area. If you are outside our transportation area, we can arrange to meet you or coordinate the drop off in some other manner.)
